Dickensian Evening & Christmas Light Switch On

Dickensian Evening
Friday 2nd December from 5pm

Tavistock’s Dickensian Evening is a magical late-night shopping event that transports you back in time as shop keepers embrace the spirit and dress up in traditional attire.

The town’s magical Christmas lights will be switched on at 5:45pm.

Shops will be open late, and the town will come alive with the smell of hot chestnuts cooking on steam engines and entertainment on every corner.
The streets are filled with crowds who come to enjoy the old-fashioned traditional Christmas experience.

There will be stilt walkers, choirs, bands, street entertainers all performing throughout town.
For children there's an old-fashioned merry-go-round fairground ride and candy floss!

2022 will feature: Elfic the Juggler, The Curiosity Christmas Tree, Corvus Angelicus, Terrie-Mae McNulty and Real Steel.

Festive Craft, Food & Drink and gift stalls can be found around town and in Butcher’s Hall.

While you're in town, you can take in the festive scenes in St. Eustachius’ Church.
