Event: Tavistock Dickensian Evening - Update
Date: Friday 6th December 2024
Time: From 5pm
Weather warnings associated with Storm Darragh mean that Tavistock BID had to take the very difficult decision to cancel the much loved Dickensian Evening outdoor event. With wind speeds projected to reach 55mph, it is not safe to proceed with all the entertainment that had been planned. The safety of visitors and participants is of primary importance.
The event will therefore go back to basics. Businesses are staying open late to provide a late-night shopping experience in the true spirit of Dickensian. Tavistock Pannier Market, Butchers' Hall and Tavistock Guildhall Heritage Centre will also all be open as will the Christmas Tree Festival in St Eustachius' Parish Church Tavistock.
There is free parking from 3pm in town centre car parks (not including the Guildhall Car Park), which continues on all Thursday and Friday evenings throughout December, plus Saturday 14th. Please note that the Park and Ride service will NOT be in operation on 6th as planned.
Tavistock BID would like to thank you for your support and understanding and welcomes visitors to the Town this evening if it is safe to do so.
