Jessie Ann Alford Charity

Are you a lady living in the Parish of Tavistock who is either a widow or spinster and 60 years of age or over?

If you are, then why not benefit from the legacy left by Jessie Ann Alford and apply for a Grant from the Jessie Ann Alford Charity.

This vital legacy was left by Jessie Ann Alford upon her death in 1947 to support deserving widows and spinsters of the Parish of Tavistock, who would benefit from this financial legacy.

Jessie Ann Alford was the wife of William Charles Alford, a local market keeper, Councillor and Poor Law Guardian in the 1920s.  They were both members of the Plymouth Brethren community.
